UX/UI/Research: The Industry's First VR Prototyping Tool (Concept)
The goal was to create the
first rapid VR prototyping tool for designers,
and eliminate the need for extensive onboarding and steep learning curves.
We started our research trying to understand the current landscape- who are the designers and what are the applications that these designers are using. We quickly discovered that the virtual reality waters are, unlike well-established fields like graphic design, muddy. Most of the software for designing in virtual reality was inconceivably complicated with tomes of instructions and diagrams and links to outside plugins. We also needed to familiarize ourselves with the differences between VR, MR, and AR, as well as establishing our baseline definitions for industry jargon because it turns out that there isn’t really much standardization even among “experts”.
We believe that Invision is the industry standard when it comes to easy, rapid prototyping and we feel that InvisionVR fits right into that model and will bring a much needed asset to the growing VR world.
